MONDAY, February 22, 2021 – An virtual orientation program for new international students of exchange program from partner universities, second term of academic year 2020/2021 was held by Bureau of Collaborations and International Affairs. The program was opened by the master of ceremony, Ibu Hepy Adityarini, Ph.D, as well as the Head of International Programs.
Head of Bureau of Collaborations and International Affairs, Supriyono, Ph.D gave a welcoming speech and explained briefly about the inbound mobility called as virtual student exchange program (VISEP). From 11 departments that offered by BKUI, only 7 departments get respond from the partner universities, and got 61 students which are 37 students of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and 24 students of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). They took different departments, comprise of 10 students of Informatics, 19 students of Civil Engineering, 3 students of Physical Education, 21 students of Mechanical Engineering, 2 students of Communication, 5 students of English Education, and 1 student of Management. Supriyono, Ph.D also said that he hoped that the collaboration would develop further in the future and hoped that VISEP students would have a good time to study in Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta virtually. Last remarks, he hopes that VISEP will get a better response in the future.
Rector of UMS, Prof. Dr. Sofyan Anif, M.Si also gave a welcoming remark and was really grateful because BKUI support the program from Ministry of Higher Education which one of the program is students exchange, and VISEP got many participants from partner universities.
The last agenda, a presentation from Hepy adityarini, Ph.D as a Head of the International Programs and provided important information about when the classes began and introduced the representatives from each department. Each of the Heads and the Secretaries from 7 departments introduced themselves and provided some information about the courses and student buddy in each department. The orientation was closed with question and answer session and took picture together virtually.
