ums.ac.id, SURAKARTA – Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) and Universitas Tarumanegara (Untar Jakarta) have entered into an academic collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. The signing took place at the Main Building of Siti Walidah UMS on Wednesday, July 26.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Da’i, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., Vice Rector II, along with Prof. Supriyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., serving as Vice Rector V, represented UMS in welcoming Untar’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng., and his delegation.
Prof. Agustinus explained that the collaboration’s purpose is to carry out the Tri Dharma activities and strengthen academic and research cooperation, particularly in the field of entrepreneurship.
“One of the strengths we have at Untar is entrepreneurship. With this, Untar can become a shared learning space with UMS, and we hope that the research activities conducted at UMS can be collaborated with Untar,” Agustinus explained.
In addition to research activities, Prof. Supriyono expressed interest in the change in the study period at Untar to increase the graduation rate of students. Additionally, he mentioned the specific curriculum at Untar in the field of entrepreneurship.
“There was something quite interesting from Untar, which is changing the study period to increase the graduation rate of students, and how the curriculum with specific competencies that differentiate Untar, and this is something we will further explore,” Supriyono stated.
UMS and Untar will also conduct Short Courses by sending foreign students to each university and will hold the International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Business Management (ICEBM) activities. (Eva/Public Relations)
