BKUI Participated in the Internationalization Training & Workshop (PPKUI)

The UMS Office of Collaboration and International Affairs (BKUI) participated in the Internationalization Training & Workshop (PPKUI) that was conducted from April 29th – May 3rd at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya. In addition to offering training on producing visible results and serving as an outstanding opportunity for networking growth, PPKUI is a great platform for learning about internationalization. This training aimed to improve the role, function, and performance of the Office of International Affairs (KUI) in Higher Education to achieve its vision and mission as an institution with international insight and reputation. At this event, there was a special session with Dr. Julie Bytheway from Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT).

This occasion also holds special significance since it was being held in collaboration with the International Staff Mobility (ISM) program which has invited ITS partners from over 13 universities across many countries such as University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Murdoch University Australia, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonbury (KMUTT) Thailand, Istanbul Aydin University (IAU), University of Granada, Spain, and many others. All participants have the chance to establish connections and foster cooperation. BKUI also proposed several collaboration initiatives with various universities that participated in this event in the form of joint lecturers, student/staff exchanges, research, etc.

There are things that participants can learn from the materials given by the speakers such as International Partnership & consortium, Partnership Documents Management, Internalization for Lecturers and Staffs, International Student Activities, Managing Outbound and Inbound Lecturer Mobility, How to Improve English proficiency in each Institution, Managing Inbound and Outbound Student Mobility.
The hope is that after this training, BKUI can bring new strategies towards internationalizing UMS towards becoming a world-class university.
