The International Collaboration Office of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (BKUI UMS), in collaboration with the Professional Certification Institute (Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi or LSP), organized a workshop on the strategy and challenges of creating schemes in the digital era at UMS on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
The workshop featured Drs. Mulyanto, M.M., Vice Rector V for Cooperation & International Affairs of UMS, Prof. Supriyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., and the Chairman of LSP, Dr. Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si.
Prof. Supriyono stated that UMS is currently applying for P1 schemes, totaling 7 schemes that can verify UMS students with two main products, UMS graduates and certified expertise.
“We are currently applying for the P1 schemes, totaling 7, to be perfected for optimal results,” said Prof. Supri.
The workshop on the strategy and challenges of creating schemes in the digital era was attended by 50 participants from various faculties and bureaus within UMS.
On another note, Mulyanto mentioned that there are three pillars as requirements for competent labor: 1. Competence Standards as a reference for the job market’s needs, 2. Competency-based training programs to produce learners who master the institution’s competencies, and 3. Competency certification according to the standards to ensure learners’ competence by the LSP.
Furthermore, the Chairman of LSP (Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi or Professional Certification Institute) UMS, Dr. Zulfikar, S.E., M.Si, also stated that UMS is currently preparing 7 LSP schemes related to digitization.
“There are 7 schemes that have been designed and are currently in the refinement stage, such as Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Accounting Techniques, Digital Advertising, Occupational Health and Safety, and others,” he added.
