On Thursday, January 31, 2019, Bureau of Collaboration and International Affairs of UMS got a visit from SMA Muhammadiyah Purwodadi. They were consist of 11th and 12th grade students and was accompanied by three teachers – Ali Ichwan, M.Pd, Ahmad Saruju, S.Ag, and Eny Nurhidayat, S.Pd. The purpose of this visit was to introduce students with International Programs offered by UMS as well as to take part in Korean classes filled by Park Hyunju, one of the UMS students majoring in Islamic studies and accompanied by Puspa Pertiwi, one of students who has completed her Double Degree at Youngsan University in Korea.
Park Hyunju taught Korean by using a Korean song entitled “Gom Se Mari”. He pronounced and interpreted the song lyrics word by word into Indonesian. When Park Hyunju had difficulty interpreting the meaning of the lyrics into Indonesian, He invited to speak Puspa Pertiwi in Korean, then Puspa Pertiwi interpreted it into Indonesian to the students.
After finishing interpreting Korean song lyrics, continued by sharing her experiences when she studied in Korea and showed some of her videos and photos while there. Students of SMA Muhammadiyah Purwodadi were very enthusiastic and gave several questions to Park Hyunju and Puspa Pertiwi. The visit was closed with teachers of SMA Muhammadiyah Purwodadi giving souvenirs for UMS.
