Closing Ceremony of PMM 4 UMS: A Farewell Ceremony Showcasing the Cultural Creations of the Nusantara

Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) 4 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta can expand cooperation and foster collaboration among universities managing the PMM program. Additionally, it can provide high-quality learning experiences, manage exchange students, and improve university governance. Consequently, the universities conducting PMM 4 can independently develop their exchange programs.

There are 44 active inbound PMM students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta from various universities, including Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung, Universitas Teuku Umar, Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang, Universitas Muhammadiyah Muara Bungo, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, Universitas Malikussaleh, Universitas Bung Hatta, Universitas Pattimura, Universitas Muhammadiyah Luwuk, Universitas Islam Kalimantan Muhammad Arsyad Al Banjari Banjarmasin, Universitas Dharmas Indonesia, Universitas Islam Riau, Universitas Halu Oleo, Universitas Prima Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Padang, Universitas Negeri Makassar, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara, and Universitas Perintis Indonesia.

Various cultural creations from across the Indonesian archipelago enlivened the farewell event, including each group’s dance performances, dramas, and choirs. Additionally, there was a fashion show featuring traditional clothing modeled by students of PMM Batch 4.

The Head of the Office of Collaboration and International Affairs (BKUI) UMS, Andy Dwi Bayu Bawono, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude to the participants who completed the program successfully. “On behalf of the UMS leadership, I would like to congratulate the participants of PMM Batch 4. The duration of one semester can be considered quite long. Certainly, there are many new things that have been learned, from activities, education, culinary experiences, and more,” stated the Head of BKUI UMS.

In this program, it was reported that participants engaged in eight activities focusing on diversity, five reflection activities, and one social activity,” stated Agus Triyono, S.Sos., M.Si., as the Nusantara Module Lecturer.
