Collaborative Meeting and MoU Signing between Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta and the University of Nottingham in Malaysia
Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) took another significant step towards international collaboration by holding a prestigious meeting and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with the University of Nottingham in Malaysia. The event was held on Tuesday, 27 August 2024, at the Rectorate Meeting Room of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta.
The collaborative meeting, aimed at strengthening academic ties and fostering mutual growth, was attended by distinguished representatives from both institutions. From UMS, a representative from the rector, Prof. Supriyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D, led the delegation, accompanied by several leaders and key faculty members of UMS. The University of Nottingham in Malaysia was represented by its Provost and CEO, Prof David Fitzpatrick, alongside other senior officials.
The MoU signing ceremony marked the formalization of a new partnership focused on joint research initiatives, student and faculty exchange programs, and collaborative academic endeavors. This collaboration is expected to open up new opportunities for both universities to enhance their academic reputation and contribute to global knowledge exchange.
In his speech, Prof. Supriyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating that currently, at UMS, their focus is on enhancing and cultivating a strong research culture. By partnering with institutions and researchers who have already established a reputation for excellence in their fields, UMS can gain invaluable insights and experience.
The event was followed by a networking discussion where participants from both institutions discussed future projects and areas of mutual interest.
This meeting was concluded with a formal exchange of MoU documents and a symbolic photo session.
