ums.ac.id, PABELAN – The team from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), led by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Sofyan Anif, M.Si., was received by Prof. Lindsay Oades, Director of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE) at The University of Melbourne on Wednesday, February 28.
During this occasion, Prof. Sofyan Anif delivered an introductory speech, introducing the team and providing an overview of UMS.
“The UMS team’s visit is aimed at enhancing our reputation as a world-class university by partnering with MGSE,” stated the UMS Rector.
He expressed that this visit would discuss the future of the partnership between the two institutions.
“The purpose of this visit is to establish cooperation, particularly in the field of Indonesian language education for foreign speakers. Additionally, we can collaborate on research, student and staff exchange programs, as well as capacity building,” explained Sofyan.
Collaborating with the University of Melbourne, he continued, would contribute to enhancing UMS’s global reputation.
Subsequently, teams from each partner institution will further explore the concept. The refinement of the curriculum will be directly managed by the team from the UMS Bureau of Learning Innovation (BIP), represented by Kusuma Ratih, Ph.D., and Dr. Laili. The development of this collaboration will be initiated with a return visit from the MGSE team, which is scheduled to visit UMS.
Both the UMS Rector and MGSE Director welcomed this mutually beneficial collaboration, and the event concluded with a closing statement and the exchange of souvenirs. (Fika/Humas)
