TWENTY-FIVE, New International Students Academic Year 2019/2020 attended an orientation held by Bureau of Collaborations and International Affairs (BKUI) on Friday, September 13, 2019 in LPPM courtroom, Siti Walidah Building 5th floor. The new international students came from several different countries, comprise of Five Darmasiswa RI Students from Russia, United States, Hungary, and two Zimbabwe. Nine KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang) students from Egypt, Laos, Uganda, Madagascar, two Afghanistan and two Thailand. Two IPS (International Priority Scholarship from UMS) students from Uganda. Two IPS Lukmanul Hakeem students from Thailand and there were eight internship students from Thailand. The orientation was opened by Head of BKUI, Supriyono Ph.D. He gave a welcoming speech and explained briefly if there would be representatives from Immigration of Surakarta, Sukoharjo Regional Police Department, and Indonesian State Bank (BNI) who would fill the orientation material. Mr. Oky Syachputra, A.Md.Im., as a representative from Immigration of Surakarta explained about immigration regulations that the international students must abide by during their study in Indonesia.
Regulations regarding the traffic were presented by IPTU Grandika Indra Waspada, S.I.K., as First Supervisor of Police Unit from Sukoharjo Regional Police Department. He explained that if the international students want to ride motorcycle or car they must have an international driving license. He explained how steps to make the international driving license.
The last speaker was Muthia Afifah Anzani from Indonesia State Bank (BNI), she gave a lot of information related to BNI and how to open an account BNI for international students. The orientation was closed with question and answer session and took some picture together.
