UMS Provides Orientation for 129 Students Who Passed Certified Internships and Independent Studies

Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) provided orientation for 129 students who passed the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB).

The orientation was conducted by the Head of the Office of Cooperation and International Affairs (BKUI), Andy Dwi Bayu Bawono, Ph.D., and the Head of the Planning and Development Bureau, who is responsible for the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, Munajat Tri Nugroho, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. The event was inaugurated by UMS Vice Rector 5, Prof. Supriyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., on the local campus on Monday, February 20, 2023.

In his welcome address, UMS Vice Rector 5, Prof. Supriyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., expressed that MSIB is one of the forms of learning activities outside the campus that can support students’ readiness to enter the workforce in the future.

He emphasized that universities must now provide options for students to learn or earn credits outside their majors and even outside the campus. MSIB is one of the forms of learning activities outside the campus.

“This greatly supports students’ readiness to enter the workforce through internships and independent studies. To the participants, I hope you can do your best and uphold the reputation of UMS. Maintain UMS’s good name. Doing your best is one way to uphold the alma mater’s reputation,” he advised.

Andy Dwi Bayu Bawono, Ph.D., the Head of the Office of Cooperation and International Affairs (BKUI), mentioned in his address that this time, internship placements are as far as Central Kalimantan and West Nusa Tenggara.

“Congratulations to the 129 students who are participants of the 4th batch of MSIB, who are ready to depart or are already in the field,” Andy expressed.
